Teaching

Since the winter semester 2007, Martin-Luther University Halle-Wittenberg has been offering regular service learning courses  in the framework of Allgemeine Schlüsselqualifikationen (general key qualifications ASQ). In addition, the university offers faculty guidance on how to implement service learning in research and teaching. The goal is to structure the curriculum so that it will fulfill the requirements of modular courses of study and the professional standards of service learning. Service learning provides special opportunities particularly for all those who are still at the beginning of their teaching career or want to break out of old routines.

We will support faculty or coordinators in charge in conceptualizing study-related service learning courses, which comply with the requirements of the existing curricula. For example, we have been offering an independent workshop on service learning in university teaching in the area of personnel development, training and continued educations at MLU since 2011.
